Actually posting on the right day! Go me. (It’s cuz I got distracted from work by drawing.)
Mariah showed the group chat these absolutely fantastic little guys called Mexican mole lizards, that look like a cross between a snake and a worm, with arms. She said she wanted to make a lizardfolk character based on one and that inspired me to slap out this, a…cowboy gunslinger lizardfolk dude? Sure!
He’s from a tiny underground town (Dirtown: Dirt is the best!) where no one has any ambitions beyond digging tunnels and loving dirt, which is why he left to seek his fortune in the wider world. As far as his design goes, his shoulders are very narrow and sloping so the coat has huge shoulderpads to help give him a more humanoid and masculine silhouette. His index fingers are the longest fingers on his hands, the others descending in length from there so his hands are very paddle-like. He is, naturally, very good at digging.
#his whole look is so cool but then he takes off his hat and his eyes are just dots in a big gummy worm head#a friend pointed out that unlike snake men a mole lizardfolk would have an evolutionarily legitimate reason to have arms#and that’s true and fun#very stronk arms too#Wikipedia says that Mexican mole lizards can drop a chunk of their tail to block their tunnel behind them to allow them to escape#from predators#and that’s whack#Mexican mole lizard#DnD personal#my art#Draw Anything At All Ongoing
